One of the highlights of the event is an insightful session presented by KIDS Regio diving into the world of filmmaking and connecting aspiring talents directly with seasoned industry experts. The event introduces talent programs, script labs, pitching forums, distribution opportunities, and the enduring impact of children's films. During the session Viola Gabrielli highlights the comprehensive support approach by the Polish New Horizons Association, renowned Norwegian screenwriter Julie Skaufel shares her artistic journey from local roots to international success, Agata Darlasi emphasizes the value of mentorship, particularly for projects targeting young audiences. Moderated by Anne Schultka of KIDS Regio, the session offers diverse perspectives while guiding attendees through the entire filmmaking journey, starting from script conception to engaging young audiences.

Panel discussion “Brilliant Films That Find No Audience - From The Distributors Perspective” addresses the common plight of exceptional films, laden with critical acclaim and awards, yet struggling to secure broad viewership. Exploring the distributor's viewpoint, the discussion reveals the criteria influencing film selection and widespread release. It illuminates the challenges faced in certain markets resistant to foreign or independent films, demystifying the dynamics of film distribution.

The session will be moderated by Alasdair Satchel who shares the stage with distributor Xiaojuan Zhou from Attraction Distribution, Tania Pinto Da Cunha from Pink Parrot Media and Nils Andersson from Smorgas Bord Picturehouse.

Discussion panel “The Deepness of filmmaking - do kids these days question what’s behind the film?” takes a closer look at profound layers of filmmaking often overlooked in today's TikTok and YouTube-driven digital landscape. We question if there is a need to instill a deeper appreciation for the art of filmmaking in younger generations. We will debate if the art of filmmaking is being overshadowed by the quick, easy-to-make content on social media.
The session will be moderated by Alasdair Satchel, who shares the stage with mobile film maker Jon Gill, film educator and Digital Media, Culture and Education expert Sa-Ra Zwarteveen.
*more panelists TBA
