PÖFF’s youth and children’s film festival Just Film is operating under new leadership in 2026, with Jan Joonas Pevkur appointed as Head of the festival. Pevkur has previously been a member of the Just Film programming team.

He takes over from Mikk Granström, who led Just Film for years and will continue as Head of Administration of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF). Under Granström’s leadership, Just Film has grown into one of Europe’s largest and most influential youth film festivals.

“Over the last 25 years, Just Film has steadily grown into one of Europe’s biggest youth film festivals, brilliantly led by Mikk Granström. I am greatly honored that he has now entrusted me to be the next head of the festival. While I may be young myself, this year is already my sixth on this wonderful team. I can’t wait to step into the new role and bring the 26th Just Film to young people, from young people,” said Jan Joonas Pevkur.

Just Film is a sub-festival of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), focusing on films for children and young audiences and presenting a diverse international programme each year.
